Topic - Stress and Inflammation. Even kids under chronic stress have a full-on inflammatory response.
Inflammation is the health scourge of mankind because of its widespread and long-term impact on a person’s health.
It’s tied to cardiac disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer and depression.
When kids are stressed about school and friendships, they start dumping two proteins that kick start the inflammatory response.
Competition also causes stress. Intense social and academic stress as well as competition saturate kids’ lives today.
We can’t fight this ancient inflammatory response. We had to fight for our lives as early humans. Triggering inflammation was a way for the body to deal with infections caused by the wounds.
Understand these factors. Protect your kids as well as teach them coping skills that will help them to live longer and healthier lives.
