Topic - Kids See a Scam Artist

This is amazing. Kids who are five years old, after being shown a short video, could tell which speakers were making exaggerated statements. So, here’s how it went. Speakers made true statements about an animal, but they spoke in a hesitant voice. Then, they made false statements in a confident voice. Kids who were five could tell the difference and they believed the speakers who were shakey, but spoke the truth over those who were strong, but were lying. Kids who were 4 years old at the time of the study, believed both sets of adults. In only a year, children learned to detect liars even when the speaker was strong and confident in their message. The kids were not swayed by the theatrics, but by the message. It would be great if they could just hold onto this clarity of thought and ability to judge the message by the content instead of the actors.
