Topic - Capitalizing Mom and Dad

We’re important, right? Everybody says so. I mean, we shape the world! Why oh why aren’t the words Mom and Dad, Mother and Father not capitalized? We all know that nouns name people, places and things. Every noun is either common or proper. A proper noun has two distinctive features: one it will name a specific item [usually one-of-a-kind], and two, it will begin with a capital letter no matter where it occurs in a sentence. Moms and Dads, each of us is one-of-a-kind. We deserve to be capitalized. I realize that this issue may seem to be of the most minor importance, but it’s a thing with me. If we’re asking others to respect us and appreciate the power that we have to “make or break” the future, I don’t think asking for a capital letter is too much. I don’t like being lower case.
