Topic - Mother’s Immune System And Autism
For years, I’ve read research about how prenatal infections are linked to autism, but there was never an explanation as to whether or not the infections caused autism. Now we know. Mother’s immune system is responsible. If an infection occurs during pregnancy, the body’s response is to produce high levels of an inflammatory protein which appears to protect baby against developing an autistic brain. Mother’s strong immune response encourages normal development. Inflammation leads to many devastating health conditions including high blood pressure, cardiac issues, gut problems, and autoimmune disorders such as arthritis. Are the dynamics different for the developing fetus in the womb? If so, how can we use this preliminary information to reduce the occurrence of autism? Are there ways to safely enhance mother’s immune system? Ask your doctor for ideas.
